Teacher Conference Dinner Sign Up

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up November 19-21, so let’s support our teachers by signing up on the Sign Up Genius to help with items for a Teacher Conference Dinner on Thursday, November 20. The conferences are a special opportunity for parents and teachers to connect, but it’s a long day week for teachers. Let’s show them how much we support them by signing up here to bring in items for the dinner. Thanks for your support!

Buy your PTA Membership to gain access to the School Directory & support the PTA.

*To volunteer you need a current PTA Membership

**If you notice your directory listing is not showing up, please email gfs_pta_membership@westportps.org

Wondering why you're not seeing @patchespress content on Instagram? When you request to follow @patchespress, please remember to send us a DM that tells us who you are and that you are a GFS family/community member!

Patches' Praise to

  • The Logowear Team, Erin Hall, Lindsay Fipp, Alex Thompson, & Melissa Miller for launching an amazing logowear sale and creating some awesome designs! Keeping GFS FRESH!
  • Ms. Thomas for playing the haunting tunes at the Halloween Parade!
  • All the Class Parents for organizing their various class halloween parties!

So Many Apps!

What is ParentSquare?

A home base for all school communications: you can always circle back to the homepage to find an old Family Update or Patches' Press. Your account settings will determine when you receive some emails. The default option is to receive a DIGEST at the end of the day for non-time sensitive emails. If you prefer to receive all emails at the time they are sent, you should choose INSTANT. For a full FAQ, click here.

What is Membership Toolkit?

Toolkit is the platform that houses our Student and Teacher Directories; where you will find "GFS 101:" a hub with commonly accessed links and forms in one place; the GFS PTA and District calendars as PDFs, and the lunch menu. This is where the Volunteer Survey lives; where you will buy your PTA membership, ice skating, bingo, and Fall Fest tickets! And much more. If you don't already have a login, will need to register on the website and then you can login to the Membership Toolkit App. Download the App here.

What is School Dismissal Manager (SDM)?

Manage your child's dismissal method here.

The school will use School Dismissal Manager again this year to keep track of all dismissal plans. Please remember that ALL dismissal plans (except for a student’s default bus) must be entered into SDM by the 2:30 pm cut-off time. The plans recorded in SDM dictate how your child will get home.

What is MSB? My School Bucks App for School Lunches

Load money to pay for school lunches here. To participate, create a MySchoolBucks account for the school’s debit system and to regularly monitor your child’s balance. Set up your account at www.myschoolbucks.com, and check out this guide for step-by-step instructions. Additional details, including FAQs, can be found in the Food Services section of the district website: www.westportps.org.

What is PowerSchool?

All absences and late arrivals must be reported through PowerSchool Attendance Monitor on the PS website, not the App. Please read more about how to set up and use Attendance Monitor here.

You can also view your student's schedule, progress reports, homeroom and bus assignment on PowerSchool.
