Fall Book Fair
GFS 2024 Fall Book Fair is coming Monday, December 2 - Friday, December 6, 2024.
Set up your E-wallet here!  Please make sure you name your teacher for each student correctly. 

Parents are invited to shop with their children during their class visit time during school hours.  Class visit schedule here !!  Want to help? Sign up to volunteer here

 

Don’t miss our family event Bagels & Books on Friday 12/6 from 8am-9am before the school day begins. Come shop with your child and enjoy a cup of coffee and bagel while you browse! Check out how to support this fan favorite event here.

GFS Bridgeport Islanders Game
Mark your calendar for December 15th for the GFS Bridgeport Islanders game at Total Mortgage Arena and click here to buy tickets. The 4th and 5th Grade Chorus will sing the National Anthem before the game and there will be a special section for GFS students and families. For more information, click here.

We really need parent support to volunteer to sell “Chuck a Pucks” as a special fundraiser. Sign up here! 

20th Annual Walk-a-thon 

Thank you for the generosity and turn out at the 20th Annual Walk-a-thon on November 8th. We are still in need of volunteers to sign up to purchase gift cards. As a reminder, the money we raise and the gift cards support 20 families in our community during the holiday season, through Westport’s Department of Human Services’ Family to Family Giving Program. Pledge checks can be made payable to GFS PTA. 

Support Long Neck Leaders’ Crayon Initiative
Support the Long Neck Leaders’ in their Crayon Initiative! students can bring old and broken crayons from home to be collected here at GFS. They can also ask at restaurants if they have any old or broken crayons and bring those in as well. The Crayon Initiative collects used and unwanted crayons donated from homes and restaurants, and donates them to children hospital art programs. Learn more here.

It’s Pajama Time! Pajama Program Drive
Please consider donating a pair of new pajamas to support the Pajama Program (sizes newborn to youth XL; infant to size 14) during the week of the Scholastic Book Fair December 2-6th.  For each set of pajamas collected, Scholastic will donate a new book as well. GFS Pajama Spirit Day will be on Friday, December 6 to coincide with Books & Bagels, so plan to wear PJs to school. Collection boxes will be outside of the Main Office.  

Holiday Drive through Horizons at CT State Norwalk
Looking for a way to be generous this holiday? Consider supporting the Holiday Drive through Horizons at CT State-Norwalk through their Cozy Blanket Drive. Lost & Found
The lost & found is overflowing! Please take a look when you are in the building this week and claim your child’s lost items! All items left behind after the book fair will be donated.
