During the recent September professional development day at GFS, staff engaged deeply in the evolving RTI process, reviewing updated documents and learning about changes that will help streamline and strengthen the approach to supporting scholars. The learning for the day also included interactive read-alouds and math problem solving through bar modeling as useful strategies to foster critical thinking in the classroom.

In addition, the Special Education team focused on district-wide improvements, planning the rollout of a new electronic data collection system to be implemented across both the elementary and middle schools.

These sessions were anchored in the shared goal of intentionally planning meaningful and joyful learning opportunities for all scholars, while continuing to learn and grow together as a community.
