International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration inspired by the book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. On this day, scholars are encouraged to “make their mark” by expressing themselves in unique and meaningful ways, while also celebrating the creativity of others. It’s a joyful reminder that every child’s voice, ideas and talents matter and that together we can all create a stronger and more vibrant community.

At GFS, we embraced International Dot Day as a way to highlight inclusivity, kindness and the joy of learning side by side. By taking chances, trying new things and supporting one another, scholars learn that growth happens when we value each other’s contributions and celebrate our differences. Dot Day was an opportunity for GFS to reflect on the heart of our community: learning, growing and creating together. We began the day with a positive introduction from Mrs. Robinson on Patches Productions and ended our day with a celebration on the field where the value and significance of each member of our community was symbolized by each individual's participation in forming a giant GFS.
