GFS Reaffirms Its No Place for Hate Commitment

As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment, and in alignment with Westport Public Schools’ initiatives and GFS goals and values, we are excited to share that on Monday, November 3, we officially began this year’s work toward once again being recognized by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) as a No Place for Hate (NPFH) school.

Fifth-grade members of Greens Farms School’s Long Neck Leaders student group inspired families at the school’s fall PTA meeting, sharing reflections on leadership, friendship, and community. GFS Welcomes Author Jasmine Warga for a Day of Creativity and Joyful Learning

Grade 4 and Grade 5 scholars at Greens Farms School (GFS) recently welcomed Newbery Honor-winning author Jasmine Warga for an inspiring day of learning and creativity. Warga, best known for Other Words for HomeA Rover’s Story, and The Shape of Thunder, shared her journey as a writer and discussed the power of empathy, imagination, and perseverance, key themes that deeply resonate with upper elementary readers.

GFS Professional Development Day Highlights

With a focus on intentionally planning joyful, meaningful learning for every scholar, GFS staff came together on the September professional development day to engage in the evolving RTI process, explore teaching strategies, and plan the rollout of a new data collection system.

Embracing International Dot Day at GFS

International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration inspired by the book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. On this day, scholars are encouraged to “make their mark” by expressing themselves in unique and meaningful ways, while also celebrating the creativity of others.
