We were able to ease one of the most anxious transitions a family faces, starting at a new school, by bringing new families into the GFS community before the first day even arrived. Through campus tours led by current scholars, time with school leadership, and a warm welcome from the PTA, families left orientation feeling less like outsiders and more like members.

In January, students at Greens Farms Elementary School (GFS) came together for a powerful service learning initiative led by the school’s student leadership group, the Long Neck Leaders (LNLs). With the support of a donation from the GFS PTA to Blankets of Hope, the entire GFS community participated in spreading warmth, kindness, and encouragement to individuals and families in need.
